Dr. Jim Fink is the President and founder of HGI. Dr. Fink functions as HGI’s Chief Technical Officer and is responsible for the development of several key HGI technologies. Jim maintains an active role in consulting, equipment and software development and training of HGI staff.  Jim has taught geophysics at the University of Arizona as contract faculty and was an adjunct faculty member for several years.  Jim's education includes a dual-major B.Sc. Degree in Geophysics and Geochemistry from the University of Arizona; an M.Sc. degree in Geosciences, cum laude, from the Bernard Price Institute of Geophysics at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa; and a Ph.D. in Geological Engineering and Geohydrology from the University of Arizona. Dr. Fink is a registered geophysical engineer and registered land surveyor in Arizona, a registered professional engineer in New Mexico, and a registered professional geologist in Wyoming. He has nearly 40 years experience in the industry and academia. Dr. Fink has a unique experience in the development and application of geophysics towards environmental remediation, geotechnical studies and mineral exploration.
