Our experience includes a large variety of geophysical methods and techniques for ground based investigations as well as the use of airborne, marine, and borehole platforms. The HGI designed and built G.O. Cart™ is a unique, versatile, towable platform for rapid acquisition of electromagnetic and magnetic data over wide areas. We have a strong track record of innovation in data acquisition, processing, and interpretation of geophysical data to meet and often exceed the needs and expectations of our clients

Resistivity - Our High Resolution Resistivity™ (HRR) method is ideally suited to acquiring 2D and 3D images of the lateral and vertical resistivity of the subsurface. We have applied the method to mapping the contents of landfills, characterizing hydrogeology including moisture distribution in heap leach pads, delineation of contaminant plumes, and detecting voids in karst and on abandoned mine lands. We completed a waterborne resistivity survey of the Panama Canal to obtain the geotechnical properties of the geology hosting the canal. Our experience includes time lapse 3D characterization of plumes at highly industrialized sites such as nuclear power plants and DOE tank farm sites. In addition, the method is applicable to assessment of earthen dams and levees.

Our Residual Potential Mapping™ (RPM) method is an adaption of the mise-a-la-masse method for delineating fluid flow pathways and voids in addition to monitoring fluid movement.

We designed and built a large channel-count resistivity system to perform time lapse monitoring of leaks from underground storage tanks and earthen impoundments as well as infiltration of fluids through heap leach pads and geological formations.

Induced Polarization - Our scientists and field crews bring nearly 50 years of research, development and experience in data acquisition, processing, and interpretation services of IP data to every project, whether it be for mineral exploration or environmental site characterization. Our unique fractional array provides superior resolving power over conventional approaches to IP data acquisition.

Gravity - Our experience includes the application of gravity to map basins for ground water, geothermal, mineral, and oil and gas exploration.

Magnetic - We provide magnetic data acquisition, processing and interpretation services for buried object location, geological mapping, and mineral exploration. Our G.O. Cart™ has repeatedly proven to be a cost effective approach to assess large areas.

Electromagnetic (EM) - Our experienced staff is fluent in the many flavors of electromagnetic techniques; from shallow subsurface EM conductivity mapping using tools such as the GEM-3 and Geonics EM-31, 34, and 38, to deep investigations for ground water, geothermal, and mineral resources using time domain EM, CSAMT, and Natural Field MT.

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) - For many shallow investigations, such as locating buried objects and infrastructure, we employ GPR to obtain high resolution images of the subsurface.

Seismic - Our professional staff is experienced in the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of seismic refraction and reflection data for characterization of near-surface stratigraphy and structure. We often employ seismic methods to obtain engineering properties of materials or to characterize a site for the exploration and development of ground water or mineral resources.
